Menton France - Creole Mass 1 12x16 Oils on canvas panel
Another painting inspired by Jilly's Menton Daily Photo blog pages!
Jilly has this knack for making photographs that are interesting, colorful and show Menton, Frnace in such a wonderful light. The people and are so colorful that I could make paintings from her photos without end.
Ken this is great! And you are a real painterholic, as I see it in my Google reader roll :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Gorgeous skin tones, and the folds in the geometric headdress are fantastic. well done!
ReplyDeleteHi Irina - That Google reader is trouble for me - I start reading / looking and spend too much time. :-)
ReplyDeleteI see that you're busy with your art and photos. Spring is here! Time to stop with the 3D renderings at work and go outside and enjoy "warmer" weather! (Easy for me to say that!)

Hi Liz.Thank you for your kind words. Aren't those colors fantastic? AND you should see the painting! The digitalizing (is that a word?) takes away some of the brilliance and luster of the colors in the oil paints. But all in all, the essence of the painting is there. :-)

Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteI think you really know how to make portraits, what else can be said... I love it!
Warm regards,
Carolina
Hi Carolina! You know what? I like it too! (GASP)
ReplyDeleteThe colors are "similar" to Jilly's photo, but I couldn't let that stop me from coloring it up a "BIT". :-)
