Boys Running In The Countryside - WORK IN PROGRESS

WORK IN PROGRESS
Boys Running In The Countryside   16 x 20  Oils on canvas panel

WORK IN PROGRESS

This is a combination of four (4) reference photos:
The background ground, trees and sky are a photo of the neighborhood where we live.  The boys are two photos from Jilly Bennett's blog Menton Daily Photo.  The dog is patterned after a photo from the internet.

Casey 9/15/2005 - 8/6/2010

We had to put Casey to sleep this morning due to kidney failure and cancer.  A very good dog and a best friend to Melissa and me.  He leaves a huge void that will take a long time to ease.

We still have Simon (a boxer) and Bella (a miniature schnauzer) to help us in our grief.

Having a snow day - March 20, 2010!

Yesterday afternoon the mid-afternoon temperatures were in the mid 60s F.  About the same time today, SNOW and temperatures in the low 30s F.

4 PM Saturday
A dusting of sleet & hail

5 PM Saturday

1/2 inch fluffy snow on top of the sleet & hail. Very slippery.

The dogs like to eat the snow.  Go figure. They also like to run then put on the "brakes" so that they slide.  I don't encourage them.

Ken B And The Dogs

Ken B And The Dogs 30x24 Oil on Masonite

9/19/2009 - Posted new photo. Work in Progress. :-)

This is a composite of a couple of photos that I took of the dogs and me on our walks around the neighborhood this year; when the dogwoods were blooming but the trees hadn't "leafed out". I put the camera on time-delay and quick like a bunny stepped back and tried to look cool. That didn't work (the cool part) so I just stood there - squinting. Most of the time the dogs took off just as the shutter was shuttering so the dog part of this painting is mainly from other photos and my imagination.

The large Boxer is Casey, the small Boxer is Simon and the Miniature Schnauzer is Bella.

The (digital) photo of the painting kept coming out darker than I would like, so my camera and I have agreed to a truce. All of my photos here on out are "no fault" photos. I get grumpy at my camera and vice versa but we don't say anything about it to each other. (stupid @#%^ camera).

Paco

PACO 8x10 Oil on masonite

Paco is a Rat Terrier and Chihuahua mix. One of my best friends in Seattle and his wife belong to Paco.

This is paying my dues toward the cute puppy pictures. One of those "Awwwwww, isn't he cute?" sort of thing.

Casey - our 88 pound 4 year old boxer. He has a problem with his back left knee hurting him. The knee slows him down sometimes but is still a cuddle-puppy at heart.
