Girl In A Red Coat  12x16  Oils on canvas panel

I saw an image much like this somewhere on TV or the internet but seriously, I don't remember which or where.

For some reason I had a hard time making this photo with my camera so the colors are only "close" to what the painting looks like.

I don't know if the young girl is looking AT something in the distance or looking FOR something. But she appears a little timid or apprehensive about walking from the tree line into the open area.

  1. I love this subject, the position of the girl, knees slightly bent, slightly turned, she probably saw something, so not very secure, and the coat, a little too long, the sleeves too, can be it belonged to his sister ..The colors are very good, I like this one, Ken, bravo!

  2. Thank you, Sylviane. I'll see if I can alter the hem of her coat a bit! :-) I'm happy with your critique of the mood of the painting. I'll also work on a better photo!!

  3. This painting is lovely, with complimentary colors. I could feel it was a cold day. I don't think you should "hem" up th child's coat. Maybe her mother gave her a long coat to keep her warm. :8D
You have been very productive, churning out work after work, which is great! How I wish I had your motivation. Thank you for the "lesson" on setting comments notification. I understood that part. What I had wondered was if I answer people's comments on my page, they will know it. For instance, does Sylvianne get notice that you have answered her here, on your page?

  4. I misunderstood your concern! I think that there is no way (yet) to let the person know that you've "commented" on another person's comment. Sounds like something that could be an option that google might want to explore?

  5. I like this painting very much. It is not just image (which can be perfect and unique), but the story behind it (who is she? if she is frightened? where does she go?). That's the goal of my progress. Bravo!

  6. Hi Irina, thank you for seeing what I was trying to convey in this painting. Where are her parents or companions? Is she alone? I like this painting very much - which doesn't happen very often. :-)
