City Rooftops - DSFDF Challenge

City Rooftops 12x17 Oil on canvas

This is my version of Karin Jurick's Different Strokes From Different Folks (DSFDF) challenge. I didn't submit this to her blog as the deadline for submissions was several days ago. Now there's another challenge - maybe I'll have the time to participate in the new challenge.

It's really an education to see all of the "entries" to Karin's challenges. She posts a photograph on her blog then artists submit their version / vision of the photo. Take a look at the blog at http://differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com/

  1. Hi Ken!
I've been away for a while, lots of things to do...
I like the colors you've chosen for this one, blues-oranges-yellows mostly, they work great together. And the clean neat lines of the buildings are peaceful, they convey order in a sort of way. I think you nailed it with this one, I like it a lot...
Hope everything went well on the Guild's exhibition, and that everyone had a great time!
    Best regards,
    Carolina

  2. Hi Carolina. I hope all is well with "lots to do". As for the painting, I was trying for a night-time feel/look. The Art Guild exhibit isn't going too well as there aren't many people coming in. I supose it's to be expected with our economy the way it is. (or IS NOT!) :-) :-(

I keep looking at your blog - I hope that you're continuing to sketch & make your art. I'm sure that your "Carolina" time doesn't happen often or for much time. Being a mom & wife is hard work. (As if THAT's news) :-)

    Talk to you later,
    Ken B.
