Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays to all!

I have to share a sad, sad story with you.  Yesterday I baked  about two dozen bread rolls and put them on our kitchen counter to cool before storing them in a bag. A VERY BIG MISTAKE on my part as it turned out!  :-)

Our Boxer, Simon, sneaked into the kitchen and ate most of them off of the counter!  When I confronted him about it he totally denied eating the rolls. He blamed the missing rolls on the boogey critter (a chipmunk) that lives under our back yard deck!  I know it wasn't the chipmunk because Bella, our Miniature Schnauzer, pointed her paw at Simon and told me that Simon was the culprit.

As it turns out, those rolls weren't all that good anyhow.  I made another batch today and these are much better tasting and they are SAFELY put away so that neither Simon nor the chipmunk can get them.  Simon finally apologized this afternoon - too late though!

You can see the guilt in his eyes!

  3. Our Christmas will be WONDERFUL! Melissa and I will celebrate quietly with our dogs Simon and Bella.

We had a dusting of snow last night and Simon has outside licking the snow. (He LOVES ice! Go figure.)

All and any edibles will be safely stored. :-)

  4. Look at it this way, Simon had a good eat and you have made even a better batch of rolls the next day. If not for Simon, you would have eaten the bad rolls and would be too grumpy to make another batch.
I was stranded at Tacoma airport overnight due to snow storm :-(
Happy Holidays to you and family!

  5. You do know of course that Boxers have incredible taste so the rolls must have been pretty good. But so nice of him to pass that information on to the chipmunk. Sharing, that's what it's all about!

  6. I understand Simon perfectly. Some bread rolls are so good, you eat all of them and do not even notice it. So he was telling the truth. What I do not understand, and envy, is how he manages to keep this slim shape with such good appetite. I dream to have same waist.. maybe I should start to eat snow)))
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
