I made this painting from a black & white photo that I saw in the National Archives website. The man wasn't as happy in the original photograph. The photo appears to have been taken during the US "great depression" and the fellow was probably wondering how he was going to take care of his family.
These three paintings are so good. And I am glad that I was right when joking about your absence in blog-world. Great job done. This one is my favourite of three.
